A small airfield located in front of the Synagogue and the CILCA was build at an unknown time. The airfield was seldom used but small aircraft and helicopters landed sporadically.

I remember fondly when this small plane came to Sosua.I was maybe 9 or 10 years old when this happened and a bunch of us were playing baseball when the plane was landing.Needless to say,we all ran to the airport which was close by and by the time we got there, there were a few adults talking to the pilot.Before we new what was happening,we were offered a short flight above Sosua.For the few of us that flew that day,it was our first plane ride,and what a thrill it was.
